David Rideout is a board-certified emergency physician with more than 31 years of ER experience, including 18 years on the North Shore of Massachusetts. He began his career in Ontario, Canada, where he served as department chief, hospital Chief of Staff, DPH consultant and hospital Trustee. He continues to have active medical staff appointments at hospitals in Massachusetts.
He retired from emergency medicine in April of 2013, and since then has been working as an urgent care doctor and as a certifying physician for patients qualifying for the medical use of marijuana. His experience in this rapidly expanding area of health care includes a year as the Medical Director of one of the state's leading providers of medical marijuana evaluations. David brings a breadth of clinical expertise and a strong sense of commitment to patients in establishing one of the state's few physician-owned medical practices devoted to certifying patients for the medical use of marijuana.
He attended McGill University medical school and did postgraduate training at Memorial University in Newfoundland. He has four grown children and lives with his wife on Cape Ann. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, carpentry, gardening and skiing.
