David Rideout, MD, FACEP

David Rideout is a board-certified emergency physician with more than 31 years of ER experience, including 18 years on the North Shore of Massachusetts. He began his career in Ontario, Canada, where he served as department chief, Chief of Staff and Hospital Trustee.

He retired from emergency medicine in April of 2013, and since then has been working as a certifying physician for patients qualifying for the medical use of marijuana. David brings a breadth of clinical expertise and a strong sense of commitment to patients in establishing one of the state's few physician-owned medical practices devoted to certifying patients for the medical use of marijuana.

He attended McGill University medical school and did postgraduate training at Memorial University in Newfoundland. He has four grown children and lives with his wife on Cape Ann. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, carpentry, gardening and skiing.

Heidi Prieur, CNP

Heidi is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who is registered with the Department of Public Health to certify patients for the medical use of marijuana.  She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Salem State University, and her Master’s degree from Regis College, graduating with high honors.  She met Dr. Rideout when she began working in the emergency room as a student nurse 20 years ago.   She has fifteen years’ experience in Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care.  She has been doing medical marijuana evaluations since 2016.

She believes in an integrated health care approach which treats the “whole” person, not just their symptoms and disease.  Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, listening to music, yoga, and working in the garden.

Karra Cheever, CNP

Karra is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who is fully registered with the department of public health to certify for the medical use of marijuana. She received her BSN in nursing from Salem State and her Master’s degree from UMass Lowell, graduating with high honors from both schools. She worked for five years in acute care at Beverly Hospital and taught medical surgical nursing clinical at Endicott College and at Salem State.

She believes in a holistic approach to health and encourages her patients to incorporate natural therapies and non-traditional lifestyle modifications. She has special interest and expertise in substance use disorder.

Karra enjoys running, swimming, paddle boarding, cross fit, and any activity that provides mental and physical preventative medicine.
